Senior Pastor of the New Oasis of Love Church, Apostle Utah Taylor-Rolle visited the families of two teen males who were shot and killed on Faith Avenue on Monday evening.

Taylor-Rolle spoke with ZNS News from the scene of the incident. He said, “I want to make two appeals. The first appeal is to the young men. There are other ways that disputes can be settled, please man, I’m pouring out my heart as a father. I’m pouring out my heart because I spoke to the dad and I couldn’t even say I know your pain cause I’ve never went through that. But I could just imagine the pain, the turmoil he’s going through cause when you take away a life you not only take their life but you take away the life of family members. When I say take away the life I’m talking about the grief.”

The Apostle added, “I was a young boy growing up without a father. I did a lot of stuff. I was in the gangs. I sold drugs, I fought, I stole because of that male void in my life. Some people will not be happy that I’m saying it but it is the truth, it’s the truth. We need more men to step forth and to be the example and to show love to these young men.”

In addition to the two young men, a 16 year old female and another teen male have also lost their lives to gun violence since the start of the year.
