Health Officials Monitoring Stomach Bug

Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville addressed the issue of a stomach bug making the rounds outside of the House Of Assembly on Wednesday.

Darville told reporters that there is nothing to be overly concerned about and that the situation is being closely monitored. “We’re aware that there is an upper respiratory tract infection that’s going around and we saw an uptick. Our surveillance unit is monitoring the situation and as you’re aware the athletes during the swim meet there was a circumstances, we brought it under control. But I believe now we’re beginning to see a downtrend but there was a stomach bug that resulted in upper respiratory tract infection as well as vomiting and diarrhea.”
