Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources, the Hon. Vaughn Miller made his contribution to the 2023-2024 mid year budget debate in the House Of Assembly this week.

In his presentation Miller commented on tourists being advised to stay aboard cruise ships while in The Bahamas. He said, “I’m certain of every confidence that those ships who are now engaging in distortion and disinformation and fearmongering they will come to understand, if they have not been made to understand, that if passengers are discouraged from coming onshore in The Bahamas they will find themselves, as cruise ships, not welcomed and seeking other ports.”

Recently a video of a female cruise passenger on the island of Grand Bahama expressing her apprehension about taking a taxi went viral on social media.
