WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama insisted on Thursday that his decision to send military advisers to Iraq and consider targeted strikes against insurgents from an al Qaeda splinter group did not mean U.S. troops would again be at war in the country. “American combat troops are not going to be fighting in Iraq again,” the U.S. president told a White House news conference after meeting his national security team to discuss the crisis.
