Man shot dead by police


Police shot and killed a man on Thursday night after he reportedly pointed a gun at officers.

According to reports, shortly after 10 p.m. police went to an apartment building on Abner Street, Fox Hill. As officers entered the front yard of the building, a man known to police allegedly pulled out a gun from his clothing and pointed it at them.

The officers, fearful for their lives, shot the man and recovered the gun, police said.

The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Her Majesty’s Coroner visited the scene and is investigating the matter.
