American woman drowns


An American woman drowned in waters near Great Stirrup Cay near the Berry Islands on Sunday, police said.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the unidentified woman was swimming with family members when she became unconscious.

Police said the woman was taken to shore and, despite extensive CPR efforts, was declared dead by a doctor.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, police said.

Investigations continue.

Web shop robbery

Police are searching for two men responsible for robbing a web shop on New Providence on Sunday.

Reports are that shortly before 1 p.m., two men, one armed with a handgun, entered a web shop on
Cowpen Road and robbed the cashier of cash before fleeing in a silver vehicle.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
